Any Pilots out there? Need help with private airstrip

I am getting ready to list to half acre waterfront lots  side by side by the same owner.  One has a cabin built in the 50’s.

The unique thing about this property is that you can taxi out the driveway onto a private airstrip shared by 7 homes.  Only 3 of those have planes.  Where would be a good place to advertise this property to those who would love to hit the wild blue yonder from their homesite?

I welcome all ideas, if you have experience with what trader magazines, websites or marketing ideas will help, please let me know.

The hummingbirds have flown the coop.

Well it looks like it is time to take in your feeders in North Idaho.  We were able to enjoy our humming birds longer this year.  We saw the last young one about 3 days ago.  The Rufous Hummingbird has the long solo flight of  more than 5,000 miles a year. It flies from central Mexico to Alaska and back again. We are lucky to live right in the flower corridor of these migrating wonders and often have 60 birds at each feeder.  The males leave first followed by females several weeks later. On the south-bound journey the young leave last, flying alone on their first migration with no adult to guide them.

In its migration to Mexico, the tiny Ruby-throated hummingbird, tackles the sea crossing with a a cruising speed of about 27 miles an hour.  If all goes well it will make it in about 18 hours.  It is a wives tale that hummingbirds hitch a ride on geese, but I am sure these little guys wish they could.

Goodbye hummingbirds, hello eagles.  While we have Eagles all year round here, we will have thousands of these white headed buteos come in the next few months to enjoy the fishing on the lake.  If you are an Eagle lover, think about coming in for the Eagle watching cruises.  There is nothing like having eagles land on the boat.  smile

Choosing a domain name

Along with being a Realtor I have also been a webdesigner for 12 years. All of my websites come up on the first 3 pages of google and the very first step to accomplishing this is to have a good domain name containing key words.

I tell my clients to choose a domain name that is indicitive of their site, is easy to remember, doesn’t spell out bad words when run together , does not contain hyphens or special characters and a name that contains good keywords. With proper marketing keywords used in a search engine will come up with domain names containing those words on the first pages of the search engines.

I get asked by people all the time if it is better to use their name as a domain name or to choose something else.  While there of course is nothing wrong with your domain name.  (I do have one myself)  It isn’t your best choice when just starting out.  If your name is John Nobodyknowsmeyet and you want good quick results from the search engine, you will only get it if someone is searching for your name.  If nobody knows you and your wonderful abilities, then it will take a bit longer for your name to pop up.  If however you are specialize in a waterfront community and choose a name like  than you will see results a lot quicker.

Happy domain name hunting
