I was talking with an associate who had a bit of a falling out with a client and just could not understand what happened. She took a listing and everything just fell into place. It was just one of those transactions that anyone looking in could give her a pat on the back for a job well done. She stepped up her game her marketing was great, client interest was fantastic. Although it was quite a distance away she managed to be present for over 50 showings in a 3 week period. The repore with one spouse was good and although she only saw the other spouse twice she felt she made a good impression. A few emergencies were handled swiftly and well and the offer that came in was well negotiated. It was one of those dealings that she could be very proud of the work she had done and all was well until suddenly it wasn’t. The offer fell out. Zillow was erroneously showing a preforeclosure status from years before. A less than ethical agent was interferring with the clients and frustrated clients unleashed on her.In listening to her story I have had some instances that parralleled it to the tee both in my business and in my personal life. If you have been in real estate for any length of time you are bound to find yourself in this type of situation at least once or twice. Its not fair, it doesn’t make sense and I know first hand that it hurts twice as bad to be reamed when you know you did an exemplary job. Real estate is not an easy job and emotions can run high. You can be sure that you will be beat up from time to time and other times you will be rewarded well. If it happens to you the best you can do is to realize that as long as you know in your heart that you really did do a good job you pick yourself up, brush off, move on and try not to let it bruise you too much.
